ENDOCRINOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTAL PHYSIOLOGY – NORDIC COUNTRIES PURPOSEDenmark

The Nordic Research Committee hereby invites for applications for basic and clinical research in endocrinology and experimental physiology. The objective of this call is to support young and promising researchers as well as established scientists, to carry out research projects of 1 to 3 years’ duration.

The project can be an independent, delimited project or a clearly defined part of a larger, running project. Additionally, the best application received in this call may be selected for the Novo Nordisk Foundation “Advanced Grant” (see below).

ELIGIBILITY: The research activities applied for must take place at a university, hospital or other non-profit research institution in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. In the assessment of the application, it is emphasized that the applicant has established his or her own field of research and has demonstrated the ability to conduct original research at high international level.

  • FUNDING DKK 64.5 million are available for the funding of:
  • Up to 10 3-year project grants of up to DKK 1 million per year.
  • Up to 10 2-year project grants of up to DKK 750,000 per year, earmarked for young Principal Investigators.
  • 1-year project grants of up to DKK 1 million, within the remaining funding frame.

Expenses associated to salaries, consumables and smaller equipment.

ADVANCED GRANT The best project application will be selected for the Novo Nordisk Foundation “Advanced Grant”. The selected applicant will be invited to submit an extended 5-year research programme, with the possibility of being awarded up to DKK 10 million.
