The PhD positions will be in the framework of the Sonderforschungsbereich 1089 (SFB 1089) on Synaptic Microcircuits in Health and Disease and a project funded by the Else Kröner Fresenius Foundation.

The research focus of the projects will focus on the characterization of molecular mechanisms underlying epileptogenesis.

The three projects we are studying

A.      Role of immune – neuron signaling,

B.     Transcriptional signaling pathways

C.     Impact of neuronal morphology and connectivity on the development of hyperexcitable networks.

Requirements for the Positions

1.      An ambitious, highly motivated, team-oriented graduate student with a strong interest in neurobiology.

2.      Prior research experience with animal experimentation, microscopy, or electrophysiology techniques is advantageous.

3.      Master’s degree or equivalent in Neuroscience, Biological Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

4.      Candidates should also demonstrate aptitude in written and spoken English.
