The Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG), offers the Wadia Fellowship in the honour of its founder, Prof. D. N. Wadia to attract brilliant students for research leading to Doctoral Degree in the field of Geosciences.

Number of Fellowships: 06/year

Duration: maximum 5 Years (2 years as JRF and 3 years as SRF)

Remuneration:

  • 29,000/- with HRA per month for JRF during the first two years; Rs. 34,000/- with HRA per month for next three years as SRF
  • Annual contingency grants of Rs. 70,000/-

Essential Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold Master’s Degree in any field of Geosciences.
  • Applicant must have secured Ist division throughout the academic career.
  • Applicant must have qualified CSIR/UGC NET (JRF) /GATE exams.
  • Applicant must not be older than 28 years from the date of advertisement (relaxation for SC/ST/Women and OBC as per Govt of India norms).

  • Applications to be filed in prescribed format along with a copy of synopsis within 60 days of this advertisement to Director, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun.
  • The synopsis of one page research proposal pertaining to the Himalayan Geosciences has to be attached.
