Research Position at IRB Barcelona: Institute for Research in Biomedicine, The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology: The institute is seeking applications for research positions. The details of the positions are given below – 

Position 1: IRB Barcelona seeks to incorporate a technician to join the asymmetric synthesis research unit during a minimum of 5 moths (6th March 2017-30th July 2017).

Duties:

Preparation of chiral catalysts for asymmetric synthesis. Support the research on the synthesis of biologically active compounds.

Required Eligibility

  1. Experience: working in an organic chemistry lab
  2. Knowledge: Minimum a master degree in Chemistry and knowledge of organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry. PhD in chemistry would be preferred
  3. Skills: Chem-Draw, Scifinder, NMR, HPLC, crystallization.

Desirable

  1. Experience: work in asymmetric synthesis and catalysis
  2. Knowledge: organic synthesis, good academic record
  3. Skills: scale-up, process chemistry

Requirements / Profile: 

  1. Experience: At least five (5) years of postdoctoral experience.
  2. Experience in genome editing technologies, cancer genomics, ChIP-seq and cell culture and high-throughput screening will be appreciated.
  3. A Ph.D. in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, cancer biology, genetics or related field.
  4. Highly motivated and experienced postdoc with expertise in Genetics, Epigenetics, Molecular and Cell Biology, with a strong peer-reviewed publication record

Position 3: Project Officer (ref. AD /17/01)

Requirements

  1. Experience: Degree, preferably in Business and Administration.
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience as a Project Officer (nationals and European projects).

Desirable

  1. Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience as a Project Officer. Experience with the ‘H2020’ will be appreciated.
  2. Knowledge: “Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2013-2016” knowledge regarding this filed will be positive valued.
  3. Skills: Proactivity and versatility will be a plus.

Position 4: Functional Genomics Core Facility (FGC)

The FGC’s main mission is to provide support to the IRB Barcelona research community; however, other activities include the promotion of synergies and collaborations at the local, national and particularly at the international levels.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. Experience: More than 10 years of research experience in related fields. Experience with next-generation sequencing platforms, current analytical platforms, and associated informatics and computational skills is required.
  2. Knowledge: Technologies related to genomic analysis, in particular NGS and microarray protocols
  3. Skills: Excellent communication (mostly in English), leadership, and interpersonal skills. In addition, a service-based orientation, and prior and solid managerial experience with a core facility or similar service are essential.
