MST – DST 1000 Inspire PhD Fellowships by Ministry of Science & Technology (MST), Department of Science & Technology (DST): Inspire Fellowship for pursuing doctoral program in science and Technology. The Innovation Government in Scientific Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Scheme offers standing opportunity for pursuing Doctoral / PhD Research at any recognized University or Institute in India through Fellowships at the level same as NET (National Eligibility Test) qualified candidates.

INSPIRE is being implemented by the DST to strengthen the National Science & Technology base. This AORC Scheme in INSPIRE is focused on attracting of student to pursue PhD degree in basic and applied sciences including engineering, agriculture, medicine, veterinary, pharmacy etc. after either masters’ degree in Science/ Applied Science/ Engineering or bachelor in Medicine.

Who can Apply:

Applications are invited from

  1. INSPIRE Scholars after completion of their Masters degree in Science areas
  2. University level Ist Rank holders in their Masters Degrees in Sciences/ Engineering OR Graduate Degree in Medicine only at any recogniseed Indian University or Institute/Statutory Body in India for award of INSPIRE FELLOWSHIP.

AMOUNT: It offers financial support in the form of a Fellowship equivalent to NET/ GATE fellowship (Junior Research
Fellowship / Senior Research Fellowship) and research grant to the candidate.

NUMBER: There is a provision of total 1000 Final offers of INSPIRE Fellowships

DURATION OF FELLOWSHIP: Tenable for a max. period of five years or completion of their PhD degree, whichever is earlier.

Note:

  1. Fellowship shall not be availed to pursue M.Sc. or M.Phil, or M. Tech. course during pursing in any such Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D./ M. Phil.-Ph.D/ M. Tech.-Ph.D. courses.
  2. However, continuation of the Fellowship for once selected candidates is based on satisfactory performance certified by the institution as per stipulated GOI guidelines for such Fellowship.
