Recruitment for scientific positions at SNBNCBS: N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS) calls for applications for open positions at multiple levels. Details of the posts are given below.

Position 1: Project Assistant

Pay scale: Rs.35,400 per month.

Educational requirements: B.E or B. Tech (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Applied Optics) or M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Instrumentation from recognized College/ Institution/ University. Knowledge of computer use is essential.

Desirable qualifications:

1. First Class in qualifying degree.
2. Experience in operating and maintenance of sophisticated instruments viz. X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) / Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) / Electron Energy Loss Spectrometry (EELS), Sputtering Unit, Optical Design and building of Optical /NIR Instrument, Mass Spectrometry, Electronics Design, interfacing and hardware maintenance, Clean room (10,000 class) etc.

Experience requirements :Minimum 3 (three) years in operating and maintenance of sophisticated instruments.

Position 2: Project Scientist-C

Pay scale: Rs.63,900/-(approximately) per month.

Educational requirements : PhD in Science/ Applied Sciences/ Engineering or M. Sc /BE / B. Tech / M. Tech in any of the following areas.

Desirable qualifications:

1. First Class in qualifying degree.
2. All experiences will be only in areas relevant to project work and done in academic institutions / national laboratories including Industrial R & D Establishment.

Experience requirements: Minimum 1 (one) year after PhD, Minimum 3 (three) years after M. Tech, Minimum 2 (two) years after M. Sc / B. Tech / BE.

Position 3: Project Students

Pay scale : Rs.32,500/-(approximately) per month.

Educational requirements:

1. M. Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Applied Optics / Instrumentation / Chemistry or B.E / B. Tech/ M. Tech in Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechanical / Metallurgy / Material Science & Engineering from recognized College/ Institution / University.

Desirable qualifications:First class / division in qualifying degree.

Position 3: Project Officer

Pay scale : Rs.45,900/-(approximately) per month including of all allowances.

Educational requirements: Graduate in any discipline from recognized College/ Institution/ University with diploma in Computer Applications.

Desirable qualifications: Masters in any discipline or MBA / Diploma / Training in Secretarial & Office Management will be preferred.

Experience requirements :

1. Minimum 5 years of similar experience in Scientific / Educational/ Academic / Research Institute.
2. Should have experience in office management and secretarial assistance, drafting letters and independently handling correspondences, proceedings of meetings, fixing up programmes, proficient in filing, drafting of notes and orders, providing assistance in general office management etc.
3. Should possess good communication (speaking, reading & writing –both in English and Hindi)
4. Interpersonal skills and ability to execute independent responsibility. Experience of handling web-based on-line data processing.

Position 4: Project Scientist-D

Pay scale: Rs.74,200/- per month.

Educational requirements : B.E / B. Tech / MCA / M. Tech in Computer Science or M. Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Material Science from recognized College / Institution / University.

Desirable qualifications:

1. First Class in qualifying degree.
2. Experience in the area of computation.

Experience requirements: Minimum 5 years after M. Tech; Minimum 8 years after M. Sc, / B. Tech / B.E. / MCA
