IITM Research Associates

Number of Vacancy: 7 Posts

Required Educational Qualification:

  1. A Doctorate degree from a recognized University in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences or Oceanography or Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics with Meteorology as main subject or Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or Statistics or or equivalent subjects. Well acquainted in computer programming, Linux etc. and having publications in peer reviewed journals related to atmospheric/oceanic/climate sciences.
  2. Demonstrated skill in weather and climate modeling/ observational techniques and data analysis etc.
  3. Peer reviewed publications.

Salary: INR Rs. 36,000/-p.m. plus admissible HRA

Age Limit: 35 years as on 30.04.2017.

Post Graduate degree in Physical Sciences [includes Physics or Applied Physics or Atmospheric Sciences or Meteorology or Oceanography or Climate Science or Geophysics with Meteorology as one of the subject: Environmental Sciences or Electronics or equivalent subjects] or Chemical Sciences [includes Chemistry or Physical Chemistry or Inorganic Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or or equivalent subjects] or Mathematical Sciences [includes Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or statistics or equivalent subjects] with NET/GATE/JEST/JAM qualified. OR Bachelor degree from any branch of Engineering along with valid GATE scores. OR M.Tech. in Atmospheric/Oceanic Sciences or equivalent subject.
  2. Candidates appeared for final year of B.E./B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.S./ M.Tech. can apply for the post and should write their aggregate marks upto the latest semester they have appeared but their appointment is subject to having passed the B.E./B.Tech./ M.Sc./M.S./ M.Tech. examination as evidenced by mark sheets/provisional degree certificate.
  3. Selected candidates are required to complete Ph.D. in Atmospheric/ Oceanic Sciences under the guidance of research scientists of this Institute.
  4. Candidates should have studied Physics or Mathematics at Bachelors degree.

Salary:: INR Rs.25,000/- p.m. plus admissible HRA

Age Limit: 28 years as on 30.04.2017.
