255 Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships: Newcastle University  in United Kingdom

 Newcastle University a public research university located in the North-East of England, is inviting applications for partial scholarships awards to encourage international applicants.

Value of award: Each award is worth £3,000 for one year payable to the student’s tuition fee account.

Number of scholarships: 200 (Approximately)

Start date and duration: September onwards for one year of study.

Application closing date: There are three closing dates – 28 February, 5 May and 31 July.

The University will provide a part of the available scholarships to the highest scoring valid applicants following these dates.

Unsuccessful candidates will be carried-forward from the first and second award cycle and may receive scholarships in the following award cycle.

Eligibility Criteria:

For a Vice-Chancellor’s International scholarship, candidates can apply and be accepted only after they have been offered a place to study their chosen degree course and have been assessed as international for fees purposes. They must also fulfill the following criteria:

  • Registered at Newcastle University for the 2021/22 academic year.
  • Registered for one of the following courses:

Undergraduate – All undergraduate degrees including integrated Masters
Masters – MA; MArch; MBA; MClinDent; MClinRes; MEd; MFA; MMedEd; LLM; LLM (by research); MLitt; MMus; MPH; MRes; MSc

  • They should be wholly or partially self-financing
  • Defined as ‘international’ for fee purposes
  • Registered to study at Newcastle University city centre campus
  • Students should be new to the University
  • Those transferring or repeating courses are not eligible.

The following students are not eligible to receive Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships:

  • EU or UK students assessed as ‘home’ for fee purposes.
  • Newcastle University intercalating students or placement, Postgraduate Certificate, MPhil, doctoral (eg,PhD, Integrated PhD, EngD, DClinPych), study abroad or exchange students, Postgraduate Diploma, MSc Hydroinformatics and Water Management (Euro Aquae) students
  • Candidates holding fully-funded scholarships (full payment of fees and living expenses) such as Chevening Scholarships, Commonwealth Scholarships or other fully sponsored awards.
  • Students who are already in receipt of India Great Scholarships or Santander Scholarships
  • Pathway students progressing to the University from INTO Newcastle
  • Students who have registered or who have already started Undergraduate or Masters’ studies at the time of award: awards cannot be made retrospectively
  • Applicants initially assessed as international for fee purposes but whose fees status changed to ‘home’.

How to apply:

The students who hold an offer on an eligible course at the Newcastle University and who have been assessed as international for fees purposes will be invited to apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship. Details about how to apply will be emailed within 10 working days of an academic offer being made.
