The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is funding Cancer-Translational Nanotechnology Training (Cancer-TNT) Program led by Drs. Jianghong Rao and Dean Felsher.

The concept of this three-year postdoctoral fellowship program is to train early career scientists with the skills and educational backgrounds from both enginering, materials science, chemistry, cancer biology and medicine.

This program can be a good opportunity for talented scientists to learn the intracacies of merging nanotechnology with the biological and medical sciences, spefically for the use in cancer, in addition to becoming leaders for the rapidy growing field of cancer nanotechnology.

Duration: The program is a diverse and synergistic 3-year training program with a combined effort of 25 faculty and 9 Departments fromv3 schools to train the upcoming generation of interdisciplinary researchers who will pursue study in cancer research and clinical translation.

How to Apply: To apply for a Cancer-TNT fellowship position, applicants must submit the following as a single PDF file for all items except letters of recommendation by email to Billie Robles at brobles@stanford.edu:

  1. CV
  2. Copies of Undergraduate/Graduate GPA and GRE Scores
  3. Evidence of US citizenship/permanent residency status
  4. Career goal statement (up to one page)
  5. Research proposal detailing a Nanotechnology-Cancer-Translational project (two page limitation). It must include overall goal statement for compeling cancer research, project innovation and significance, and specific goals with reference to the nano-chemistry/engineering and cancer-biology/translational component
  6. Three letters of recommendation addressed to Dr. Jianghong Rao and which are sent through e-mail directly from referee to Billie Robles.

Eligibility

  1. Applicant must hold MD or PhD degree.
  2. At the time of the award, the applicant must be a US citizen, or a non-citizen national, or must have been legally admitted for permanent residence and have an Alien Registration Card (1-151 or 1-551) or some other verification of legal admission as a permanent resident.
  3. Applicant should not possess more than 1 year postdoc or research industry experience before commencing the fellowship program.
