Computer/Data Scientist position: MPCDF 936 views

Max Planck Computing and Data Facility (MPCDF) and the Data Group in association with theory and experimental groups of several Max Planck Institutes working in the fields of materials- and biosciences, plasmaphysics and astrophysics is inviting application for a Computer or Data Scientist.

About the position:
  • Selected fellow will work on the development and optimization of data-driven projects. Examples include the pan-european EOSC-hub project as well as other physical and biomedical projects.
  • Selected fellow will contribute to further developing and maintaining generic data services offered by the MPCDF.
Requirements:
  • Applicant must hold experiences in object oriented programming (ideally Python or Java) are desirable.
  • Applicant must also demonstrate experience in data handling including relational and NoSQL database technologies, distributed and federated approaches to data processing are a plus.

Starting date: full time position starts as soon as possible

Duration: initially for a period of three years

Remuneration: Salary will be based on experience according to the German TVöD.
