German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) invites applications for a Bioinformatician (PhD student or postdoc) to carry out the analysis of genomic data from projects carried out by our team and collaborating partners. The selected candidate will be expected to run own projects and to also support the needs of the team and collaborators regarding bioinformatics analyses. Selected one will be affiliated at the German Cancer Research Center (German Cancer Consortium) and the Technical University of Munich. The group is based in Munich.

Starting date: as soon as possible

Duration: limited to 2 years

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have Master’s degree in bioinformatics or equivalent expertise in a relevant subject area (viz. Computational Biology, Genetics/Genomics, Computer Sciences, Physics or similar);
  • Applicant must have scientific experience in genomic data analysis.
  • Applicant must possess basic programming skills in pearl, Python, Jawa, Shell scripting); basic statistical techniques; experience with a statistical software package (preferably R); experience with analysis of -omics data sets and genomic databases; basic knowledge in genetics.
