The award of Doctorate grants is to support exceptional graduates from all disciplines and make financed doctorate study at the University of Kassel striking.

The individual support shall improve the basic conditions during the phase of educational qualification and facilitate high quality research contributions. The aim of this is to support doctoral candidates by balancing out the shortcomings they face.

Conditions:
  • These doctorate grants are usually awarded for two years. Although it can be extended for third year based on the project requirements.
  • Thorough supervision of the doctorate thesis is implicit when grant is awarded.
  • Age limit- generally 35. The age limit can be increased if the candidate has accomplished professional training or a second didactic pathway before their study.
  • If a child is born during the training, an application can be made for the grant to be extended by half a year.
