FHI: Postdoctoral position in Raman spectroscopy 13044 views

The Fritz Haber Institute (FHI) of the Max Planck Society invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in Raman spectroscopy.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • The research involves studies of nanostructured solids by Raman spectroscopy applying varying excitation wavelengths.
  • The aim of the project is to determine the surface structure at an atomistic level by combining resonance Raman spectroscopy and theory.
  • The selected candidate will be involved in the collaboration of the Fritz Haber Institute with the UniCat BASF JointLab at the Technical University Berlin within the framework of the project “Selective oxidation of alkanes”.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must demonstrate high motivation, ambition, must be able to work independently and well in a team.
  • Applicant must possess effective communication and writing skills.
  • Applicant must have strong background in physical chemistry or chemical physics.
  • Applicant must have some experience in in-situ spectroscopy and DFT calculations.
  • Applicant must hold PhD in chemistry or physics.

Duration: 2 years; extension is possible
