Getty Foundation: Pre- and Postdoctoral Fellowships 2337 views

Getty Pre-doctoral and Post-doctoral Fellowships are envisioned for upcoming scholars to complete work on projects related to the Getty Research Institute’s annual research theme. Recipients are in residence at the Getty Research Institute or Getty Villa, where they pursue research projects, complete their dissertations, or expand dissertation for publication.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants can be of any nationalities; be US national or foreign nationals who can provide evidence that they have stayed in the U.S. for the 3 years immediately earlier the fellowship application deadline.
  • Applicants must have completed all degree requirements by the application deadline.
  • Pre-doctoral Fellowship applicants must have advanced to candidacy before the beginning of the fellowship and must expect to complete their dissertations during the fellowship period.
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship applicants must not have received their degree earlier than 2014.

Fellowship value:

  • Pre-doctoral Fellows: Duration- 9 months from late September to late June; stipend-$25,000
  • Post-doctoral Fellows: Duration- 9 months (late-September to late-June); stipend- $30,000
