The Hector Pioneer Fellowship is offered by the Zukunftskolleg in collaboration with the Hector Stiftung II and is dedicated to extraordinary post-doctoral researchers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields.

Duration: 5-year

Funding: annual research allowance (for funding research assistants or equipment; start-up, consumerables and travel costs; at least 50,000 € or an equivalent

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must hold PhD degree (PhD thesis submitted and defended) and have acquired a maximum of 4 years of postdoctoral research experience
  • Applicant must not hold a permanent position in academia, a professorship, or have a habilitation or equivalent.
  • Applicant must propose a research project that ties in with one of the STEM disciplines and ideally with one of the academic focus areas of the University of Konstanz.
  • Applicants must contact potential guides (Local Hosts) among the researchers at the University
  • Applicants with their own position funded by another program, which can be transferred to Konstanz, are also eligible.
