IBS-CGP; Young Scientist Fellowship; Maths and Physics 1009 views

IBS Center for Geometry and Physics (IBS-CGP) calls for applications for one Young Scientist Fellowship position from young mathematicians of under 5 years of research experience (after PhD) in the areas of geometry and mathematical physics.

The institute is located on the campus of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in Pohang, South Korea. The institute provides an open and independent research environment. The existing members of IBS-CGP are working on symplectic geometry and topology, dynamical systems, mirror symmetry, algebraic geometry, and mathematical aspects of quantum field and string theory.

Eligibility

  • Within 5 years of getting doctorate
  • Applicant must be under the age of 40 with a PhD

Benefit and Condition

  • Fellowship provides KRW 150-300 million/annum
  • Fellows will be appointed for three years with possible extension of two years
  • The fellows must be physically relocated to one of the IBS Centers
  • The fellows are eligible to apply for the IBS Career Development Award (CDA)

  • Invitation for an on-site interview: 31st October 2016
  • Interview and presentation: 30th November 2016
  • Selection and announcement of final YSF fellows: 31st December 2016
