ICTS-TIFR: International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Bangalore invites applications for Max Planck Partner Group Postdoctoral Fellowships. These fellowships are backed by the Max Planck Partner Groups in Astrophysical Relativity (working in association with the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics) and Physical Biology (working in association with the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems) at ICTS.

Eligibility for the ICTS-TIFR postdoc fellowship:

  • Applicant must be highly motivated young scientists and must have a proven track record.
  • Applicant must hold Doctorate in Physics or related fields; Astrophysics or Astronomy for the Astrophysical Relativity group and Theoretical biophysics or Soft-condensed matter physics or Statistical mechanics for the Physical Biology group.
  • Applicant must possess excellent track record.

Fellowship value and benefits

  • Duration: 2 years; may be extended up to a 3rd year (based on the scientific activity of the Fellow).
  • Starting date: January 1, 2017 (negotiable).
  • monthly salary of Rs. 60,000 with HRA Rs. 15,000
  • health insurance and a research grant of Rs. 200,000/year
