Master of Arts in Asia Pacific Studies (MAPS): Thammasat University 1305 views

Thammasat University offers Master of Arts in Asia Pacific Studies (MAPS) and applications are now open for the program. The MAPS is an interdisciplinary graduate program that is designed for internationally focused students who are keen to obtain an in-depth understanding of turbulent part of the world through multi-faceted and interdisciplinary lenses.

Scholarships:

MAPS Program is validated with the scholarship from various organizations:

  • MAPS – Royal Thai Government Scholarship supported by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA). Applicants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Vietnam are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Number of scholarships available are 6-8 (2017/18 Intake)
  • Thammasat University Scholarship supported by Thammasat University. Applicants from all countries, with particular focus in ASEAN countries, are welcome to apply. Number of scholarships available are 10-12 awards (2017/18 Intake)
  • The Government Savings Bank Scholarship supported by The Government Savings Bank of Thailand. This 100% Tuition Fee –waiver scholarship is for Thai student with suitable academic credentials.
  • The scholarship worth approximately 570,000 THB is fully funded
  • Duration of scholarship is 3 academic semesters and one summer semester (approximately 16-18 months depending on academic year announced by Thammasat University).

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must hold Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above from an accredited university
  • Applicant must hold minimum English Proficiency which is 6.5 IELTS (IELTS 6.0 is acceptable), 550 for paper-based TOEFL test, 79 for internet-based TOEFL test, and 213 for computer-based TOEFL test or 550 for TU-GET.
  • Applicants with an international Bachelor’s Degree Program are not required to submit official evidence of English Proficiency test score upon application submission.
  • Applicants in 4th year who are expected to graduate in the 2nd semester may apply for admission by submitting a Certified Letter of Expected Date of Graduation.
  • Applicant must submit statement of purpose and Study Plan of approximately 500 words each.

Application Instructions:

  • Admission and Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria-overall academic performance, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, academic essay, and the interview screening.
