MPI for Social Law and Social Policy: PhD Position in Economics or Sociology 1274 views

The Munich Center for Economics of Aging (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, evaluates, anticipates and follows the micro- and macro­economic aspects of demographic change. For a new research project, applications are invited from excellent candidates to apply for a Doctoral Position in Economics, Sociology, or Related Disciplines. Recipients are expected to develop and pursue a research agenda with strong connection to the Baltic Sea States Project.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must hold two-year master’s degree or equivalent qualification in economics, sociology or related discipline
  • Applicant must possess strong background in quantitative methods and good knowledge of statistical software (e.g. Stata, R, SPSS)
  • Applicant must demonstrate strong interest in pursuing an academic career
  • Applicant must have interest in inequality, migration or integration research

Duration: initially 3 years

Value: Salary and benefits are based on the German public service pay scale (TVöD Bund, “Entgeltgruppe” 13, 50 %).
