The goal of the Nanobiointeractions project is to study the uptake, fate, bio-persistence or biotransformation mechanisms of nano-materials in cells and biological fluids for applications in nano-medicine, diagnostics, and nano-toxicology.

The research will move from nanoparticle physic and chemical characterization to quantitative nanoparticle cell interactions studies, involving techniques such as high-resolution confocal microscopy, electron microscopy, time lapse imaging and Raman spectroscopy. Cell and molecular biology approaches will be used, in order to describe and characterize the cellular pathways involved. The research activity will also aim on the application and development of new in -vitro methods to study nano-biointeractions.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Doctoral degree in Nanobiotechnology/nanomedicine/cell & molecular biology/nanochemistry/clinical diagnostics/biochemistry or related areas.
  • Knowledge in in-vitro cell culture, nanomaterial characterization, nano-biointeractions, confocal microscopy, fluorescence microscopy.
  • Verified track record of publications in the relevant technical areas and projects.
  • Outstanding knowledge of the English language and ability to manage/write papers.
