Orange Knowledge Programme Scholarships: Master, PhD, Short Courses 44101 views

Netherlands Fellowship Programs (NFP): The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (relaunced as Orange Knowledge Programme) promote capacity building within organizations within 51 countries by providing fellowships for training and education for students.

The OKP was started and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Thefellowship has 3 sub programs for individual fellowships:

  1. Short courses
  2. Master’s degree programmes
  3. PhD studies

 Key Objectives

  1. To increase the number and the competencies of skilled staff at a wide range of government and non-government organizations.

Fellowships are further prioritized as follows:

  1. 50% of the budget is Sub Saharan Africa applicants.
  2. 50% of fellowships female applicants.

The fellowship: This can be supplemented with the salary that the fellow should continue to receive during the study period.

The allowance is a contribution towards:

1.       Costs of living,

2.       Costs of tuition fees,

3.       Visas,

4.       Travel,

5.       Insurance and

6.       Thesis research. If applicable, the fellowship holder is expected to cover the difference between the actual costs and the amount of the personal NFP allowances.

Who can Apply: The candidates from NFP countries.

Requirements

  1. A national of and working in one of the countries on NFP country list;
  2. must have a valid passport;
  3. should not receive more than 1 fellowship/grant for courses that take place at the same time;

I have already published my MSc paper on journal of environment and earth science. currently I am employed in Rift Valley Lakes Basin Authority, Hawassa, Ethiopia as an expert of Hydrologist III.
