The New York University Development Research Institute (DRI) invites applications for a competitive post-doctoral fellowship to a promising scholar working in development economics, political economy, economic history, or related fields.

About the fellowship:

  • Applications are welcome from interdisciplinary fields and institute encourages scholars whose work spans related disciplines are, including politics, law, and public health.
  • DRI is committed to encouraging the work of scholars with backgrounds outside of the U.S. and Europe.
  • Selected fellow will spend 1 year in residence conducting research at DRI, both individually and jointly with NYU faculty members.
  • Selected fellow will be responsible for organizing seminars for members of the NYU community to share and discuss current development research, which will also serve as a platform for the fellow to showcase their own work.
  • Selected fellow will also be responsible to produce papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals, the fellow will be asked to contribute research content to the DRI website.

Fellowship value:

  • stipend is competitive with similar positions, and the fellow may apply for additional funds for travel and research assistance as needed for specific projects

Requirements:

  • Applicants for this fellowship beginning in Academic Year 2017-2018 must complete their PhD between May 2016 and September 2017.
