Population Council: Biomedical Pre and Postdoc Fellowships 3005 views

The Population Council offers Pre-doctoral and Postdoctoral biomedical fellowships for advanced study in basic and translational reproductive sciences and HIV and AIDS. Fellows will get training in the labs of the Council’s Center for Biomedical Research located on the campus of The Rockefeller University in New York City. Biomedical fellows are granted a stipend for expenses associated with the fellowship and health insurance.

CALENDAR: these fellowships are considered and granted on a rolling basis (i.e. applicant may apply any time of the year).

Duration: 01 year (can be renewed for additional years) Both pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellowship appointments may be made for shorter time periods ranging from 1 to 6 months, depending on funding, project scope, and student exchange visitor status.

Eligibility:

  • Pre-doctoral biomedical fellowships: Applicant must be engaged in graduate study leading to an advanced degree, MD, PhD, DVM, or equivalent.
  • Post-doctoral biomedical fellowships: Applicant must have successfully completed an advanced degree, MD, PhD, DVM, or equivalent.
  • Applications may be made in anticipation of receiving the PhD degree, but the fellowship cannot begin until after the degree has been granted and confirmation received by the guide.
  • Applicants other than US nationals or permanent residents must have a strong obligation to returning to their native country after completing their fellowships.
