Postdoc position in Cryptography: Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust 1092 views

University of Luxembourg and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) invites applications for a Postdoc position in Cryptography. The centre (SnT) is carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners.

Duration: 3 years; Fixed Term

Starting date: 1 February 2018 or later upon agreement.

Role and responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will join the CRYPTOLUX group led by Prof. Alex Biryukov.
  • Selected candidate will contribute to a research project on future directions in cryptography and IT security and is expected to perform the following tasks:
  • Design and cryptanalysis of symmetric cryptographic primitives
  • Side-channel attacks on symmetric cryptosystems and countermeasures
  • Financial cryptography, crypto-currencies, blockchain technologies
  • Privacy enhancing technologies
  • White-box cryptography
  • Attracting funding in cooperation with academic and industrial partners
  • Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs
  • Providing guidance to Ph.D. and M.Sc. students
  • Disseminating results through scientific publications

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Applicant must demonstrate competitive research record in applied cryptography or information security (at least one paper in top 10 IT security conferences)
  • Applicant must have strong mathematical and algorithmic CS background; good development skills in C and/or C++ and scripting languages
  • Applicant must possess fluency in written and verbal communication skills in English.
