Postdoctoral position in Chemistry: DTU Chemistry 1638 views

Technical University of Denmark (DTU Chemistry) invites application for a  postdoctoral position.

Starting date: September 1, 2017

Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Design and execution of synthetic routes to analogues of lead compounds.
  • Biological testing of candidates in biochemical and cellular assays.
  • Project management, including activity planning, milestone management and communication with collaborators.
  • Drafting manuscripts describing project results.
  • Research with some teaching
  • Guiding young researchers. It may also involve handling other assignments to a limited extent.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold PhD degree in chemistry with a strong theoretical and experimental background in organic and medicinal chemistry.
  • Applicant must demonstrate strong commitment to research; enthusiasm for working with research students and independence
  • Applicant must possess good communication skills.
  • Applicants must have a thorough interest in organic synthesis and the interpretation of data from biological screening.
  • Applicant must have experience with tools for molecular modelling will be an advantage.

Selection criteria:

  • Relevance of background experience.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and good communication skills.
