The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) at the University of Luxembourg invites applications for a postdoctoral position in bioinformatics and data analysis in the context of international research projects on complex neurological syndromes. We are seeking to employ a

Duration: initially 24 months; Fixed-term; extension possible

Role and responsibilities:

  • Analyst for integration of genomic and transcriptomic data and their integration in the context of complex neurology diseases, initially in the FP7 project BioCog
  • Data management in international projects including development of analysis and management plans and their supervision
  • Development of reproducible analysis and standards

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold PhD in computer science, computational biology, statistics or bioinformatics
  • Applicant must have strong statistical as well as computer programming skills for data analysis (Python or R preferred)
  • Applicant must demonstrate proven track record of data analysis for genomics and/or transcriptomics projects and experience dealing with clinical and omics data integration
  • Applicant must have knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases are a plus as is experience in data management of complex project
  • Applicant must show interest to work within an interdisciplinary setting, communicating with other external partners from different disciplines
