Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematics 1015 views

The University of Luxembourg is inviting applications for Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematics (Structures on Surfaces) at Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication.

Duration: 18 months fixed-term contract, full-time (40h/week)

Starting date: flexible (between mid-2019 and September 2020)

About the project:

  • This position falls under the realm of the SoS project under the supervision of Hugo Parlier and Jean-Marc Schlenker at the Mathematics Department of the University of Luxembourg. (Within the same project, our partners in Nancy and Marne-la-Vallée also have postdoctoral positions available; see here and here.)
  • The unifying theme of the project is combinatorial aspects of surfaces and their moduli spaces, broadly understood.
  • The candidate is expected to apply for additional 3rd party funding to extend the postdoctoral position.

Requirements:

  1. Candidates must have completed their PhD before starting the contract.
  2. Candidates in fields of Mathematics (Geometry, Topology) and/or Computer Science (discrete and computational geometry and topology) are sought.
