Postdoctoral Scholarships: Social Anthropology 1570 views

Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology invites applications for postdoctoral scholarships at the Department ‘Resilience and Transformation in Eurasia’. The positions are for anthropological researchers wishing to contribute to the agenda of the Visegrád Anthropologists’ Network.

Starting date: 1 September 2018
Duration: 2 years; no teaching requirements.

Study areas: classification, state practices, local level solidarities; gender, sexuality, reproductive rights; migration; minorities; gender, sexuality, reproductive rights; political language, ideologies; religion and secularization; temporality,  history, memory, silences. Applications addressing other themes will also be considered.

Requirements:

  • Applications must be focused on one or more of the V4 countries, or the neue Bundesländer of Germany.
  • Applicant must possess good research skills
  • Applicant must be able to work in a team, and communication skills with good written and spoken English are required.
  • Applicants must have completed their dissertation in social anthropology or a related discipline before the designated starting date.
