PhD Program at the Quantitative Biosciences Munich (QBM) – Gene Center of the LMU, Department of Biochemistry. QBM offers an interdisciplinary integrated PhD program that consists of 3 main components:

  1. A research project jointly supervised by 2 PIs from different fields.
  2. A formal course workwith a general and an individual component, that covers key problems in bioscience.
  • Activities to enhance students’ communication and other transferable skills.

Key Requirements

  1. MSc graduates from any relevant discipline ike, biochemistry, theoretical physics, biophysics, physical chemistry, mathematics, statistics, (bio)informatics)
  2. Any nationality who are interested in interdisciplinary research;
  3. Particularly encourage application of women.

The candidate is required to hold Master’s degree by the time he / she start the QBM program, but not at the time of application necessarily.
