Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) invites applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow in a DST funded research projects.

Position 1

Project title: “Guiding retinal ganglion cell axons to brain visual centers: Is Pax6 the key molecule?”

Supervisor: Dr. Jackson James at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold good academic record with first class Master’s Degree in Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Botany/ Zoology.
  • Applicant must have good communication skills.
  • Applicants having sound knowledge in molecular biology techniques and experience in mammalian cell culture will have advantage.
  • Age limit: Below 26 years as on 31st March, 2017.

Duration: 3 years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

Position 2

Project title: “Metabolomics profiling of Normal Healthy People in Kerala: Impact of family history of diabetes” in the laboratory of Dr. Abdul Jaleel

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold good academic record with first class Master’s Degree in Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry or any other relevant subjects.
  • Age limit: Below 26 years as on 7th April, 2017.

Duration: 3 years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

Last Date: 7th April, 2017

Position 3

Project title: “An Integrated network analysis to identify genomics alteration profiles of human pancreatic cancer” in the laboratory of Dr. K B Harikumar. This is a joint project with TATA Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have good academic record with Ist class Master’s Degree in any branch of Life Science.
  • Applicant with NET/GATE exam qualification will be preferred.
  • Age limit: Below 28 years as on 12th April, 2017.

Duration: Initially for 01 year may be extended for another 2 years or till termination 3 years or till termination of the project, (whichever is earlier).

Last date: 12th April, 2017

Fellowship (for all positions):

  • 25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified NET/GATE (with valid certificate) or
  • Post Graduates in Professional Degree courses. M.Sc. degree holders who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for Rs. 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month.
