Schrödinger Postdoc Fellowship

Schrödinger Fellowships’ main objective is to enable young professionals of all disciplines based in Austria to work abroad at outstanding research institutions and during the postdoc phase. The targeted applicants for this fellowship are mainly a group of young and especially highly qualified researchers of any discipline.

This fellowship aims to promote all kind of scientific work at leading foreign research organizations and getting experienced abroad during the postdoctoral study period. It also helps in the facilitation of way in to novel scientific fields, methods, procedures, and techniques so as to contribute to the progress of science in Austria.

Essential Qualifications (Schrödinger Fellowships)

Applicants must have:

  • Completed PhD studies
  • Scientific publications in peer reviewed journals
  • Invitation call from the foreign research institution
  • In case of return phase request: conformational letter of the Austrian research institution

Duration: Without Return Phase: 10 to 24 months

Return phase: 16 to 36 months

Application Process:
  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree
  • Academic abstract in English
  • Abstracts for public relations purposes in German & in English
  • Proposal consisting of:

         CV and publication list of the applicant completed application form

         Recommendation from Austria and Host institute

         form program specific data

        recommendation from the Austrian research institution, including an indication on the possibility of returning

         form naming all coauthors

         free-form application including a project-related bibliography

         formless invitation from the Host research institution
