STREAM is part of European Union funded Horizon 2020 program. The STREAM consortium comprises of 10 research organisations and 5 industrial partners.

STREAM structures the research & training in four scientific work-packages spanning the whole value-chain from research to application: CMOS Technologies Assessment, Smart Sensor Design and Layout, Validation and Qualification, Technology Integration, and Valorization.

Job Reference: FELL-ITN-STREAM-2017-2

Role Description

The following ESR is currently open:

ESR 4 (KIT Germany) – deadline for application 04 August 2017

Duration: 30 months

Objective: Development of large-area monolithic smart sensors for high-resolution electron detection

Expected results: The ESR core research is on development of large area monolithic sensors for high energy physics and the development of thin sensors with high spatial resolution for electron microscopy. Results will be prototypes of sensors which can be used as innovative sensors for transmission electron microscopy together with company FEI and as “smart” and radiation hard sensors for experiments on free electron lasers. Secondments at FEI (~2 x 2 months) will allow to gather requirements and later test prototypes in collaboration with the end user.

The ESR will be enrolled at the ASIC and detector laboratory at KIT. We are international team of 8 people from 5 different countries. Our main research interest is the development of sensors for scientific applications and medicine.

Planned secondment(s): FEI (Netherlands)

For detailed information on the project, please see the STREAM web site(see below).
