London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) offers the Subir Chowdhury Post-doctoral Fellowship on Quality and Economics. The Fellowship is supported by the Subir and Malini Chowdhury Foundation.

Duration: 3 months during each academic year
Location: LSE India Observatory

About the fellowship:

  • Research examining the impact of people quality and behaviour on the economies of Asian nations, prioritising but not restricted to, India and Bangladesh.
  • The main aim of this programme is to examine the links between quality and economics.
  • Selected fellow is expected to finish a research paper of publishable quality during their stay and make a presentation at a seminar arranged by the India Observatory.
  • All data collection and any material required for the research should be secured before coming to the LSE.

Fellowship value:

  • Monthly subsistence allowance: up to £1,750
  • shared work space and access to research facilities at the School
  • cost of travel and related expenses
  • No additional grant is available for fieldwork or any other costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must hold PhD; the fellowship is not intended for students registered for a degree or diploma, nor is it intended for senior academics.
  • Applicants must be early career researchers working on the impact of people quality and behaviour on economies.
  • Fellowship is open to any scholar regardless of ethnicity or national origin.
