IIT Guwahati and the department of Biosciences and Bioengineering offer Summer Training in multidisciplinary areas of biotechnology to both undergraduate & graduate students of science & engineering disciplines.

Duration: May to July every year; maximum 10 weeks.

  • Fungal Biotechnology and Bio-pesticides
  • Molecular Fingerprinting and Expression Systems in Food Grade bacteria
  • Environmental bioremediation, Bioprocess development (upstream to downstream)
  • Metabolic Engineering
  • Stem Cell Biology
  • Hormone regulated Gene Expression

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have aptitude in physical, chemical or life sciences or related engineering disciplines along with an enthusiasm for research
  • Applicant may approach the respective faculty members via email.
  • Applicant will be selected based on the recommendation of the respective supervisor only.
  • The trainee must submit the application form to the respective supervisor in the prescribed format.

Course Fee:

  • A non-refundable Rs. 5000/- (as DD drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Guwahati) must be paid by the selected candidate to get admission in the training programme.

Accommodation:

  • Stay will be provided on request in separate boys/girls hostel at IIT Guwahati (subject to availability of the seats)
  • No TA/DA will be provided for joining or leaving the training programme and during the training period.
  • Trainee can make a request for accommodation to respective faculty supervisor.
