Department of Philosophy and Humanities, Institute of Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin invite applications for research assistant (postdoc) in Theoretical Philosophy.

Duration: fixed-term up to 5 years

Salary: falls under group 13 TV-L FU

About the job:

  • Selected candidate will carry out research on a systematic topic of theoretical philosophy and contribute to the department’s teaching in theoretical philosophy.
  • Selected fellow will have some administrative tasks within the department.
  • The position is intended for the successful candidate’s further academic qualification.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold PhD on a systematic topic in theoretical philosophy.

Desirable:

  • AOS in analytic metaphysics, epistemology, or philosophy of language connected to ongoing philosophical debates
  • Must possess strong command of English; fluency in German or willingness to learn German upon starting the position
  • a publication record (or preparations for publications) that is appropriate for the applicant’s career stage
  • the ability to work in a team, commitment to teaching, and the ability to work independently
