TWAS-IACS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is for young scientists from developing countries (other than India) who want to pursue postdoc research in the fields of natural sciences at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) in Kolkata, India.

Duration: 6-12 months

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must hold a doctoral degree in physics, chemistry or biology
  • Applicant must be citizens of a developing country (other than India)
  • Applicant must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent stay in India or any developed country
  • Applicant must be regularly employed in a developing country (other than India) and hold a research assignment there
  • The language of instruction is English; provide proof of proficiency in English (if medium of education was not English)
  • Applicant must provide proof that they will return to their home country after completing the fellowship.
  • Applicant must not take up any other assignments during the fellowship
  • Applicant must be financially responsible for any accompanying family members.
  • Requests for acceptance must be directed to the Dean-Academic by e-mail (twas@iacs.res.in), which will facilitate assignment of a host supervisor.
