International Presidential Scholarships at the University of Maine in USA

University of Maine offers a limited number of International Presidential Scholarships every year. These scholarships are available for outstanding candidates to pursue an undergraduate degree program.

Course offered: Undergraduate program.

Study Subject: All disciplines offered by the university.

Scholarship Award:  $25,000 per academic year. For candidates receiving the Undergraduate Canadian Resident tuition rate, the amount will be prorated to $15,000.

 EligibilityConditions: Scholarships are primarily limited to:

  1. First-time, degree-seeking, undergraduate foreign nationals
  2. Qualify for the F-1 or J-1 student visa.
  3. Full-time students at the University of Maine. 

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.

English Language Requirement: All applicants are required to submit a language proficiency:

  1. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must furnish proof of their proficiency in English. There are two major tests for this purpose, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and tests from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
  2. TOEFL: minimum score of 79 (iBT) or 550 (iTP), institution code 3916
  1. IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
  2. CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: completed level C1.
  3. Waived language test if: Native speaker of English (e.g., Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, U.K.)
  4. SAT Verbal score is 550 or higher
  5. ACT English score is 24 or higher
  6. High school transcript clearly states that English is the language of instruction of all subjects

Application Procedure: To apply for the International Presidential Scholarship, candidates must complete a University of Maine admission application and submit an International Presidential Scholarship Application application.
