Wellcome Trust funded PhD fellowships in the PhD Programme for Clinicians is now accepting applications from medical or veterinary graduates .the fellowship is to be taken up by the end of 2017. The fellowships are offered in association with the Universities of Cambridge and East Anglia together with the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.

Fellowship value:

  • University and College fees
  • research consumables for 3 years
  • Students who are interested in computational biology, epidemiology or public health may be funded for an additional 1-year MPhil in order to obtain the appropriate skills before starting their PhD.

Number of fellowships: up to 10

Location: Fellowships will be based in campuses in Cambridge or Norwich in Departments and Institutes throughout the University of Cambridge Schools of Clinical Medicine and Biological Sciences and the Biomedical campus of the University of East Anglia and associated Institutes on the Norwich Research Park.

Duration: Fixed-term; 36 months

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must hold degree in clinical or veterinary medicine.
  • Applicants are expected to have already started their higher specialist clinical training (but this is not essential).
  • Applicant’s academic excellence and the potential to pursue a career in academic clinical or veterinary medicine is important criteria for selection.
