A Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is available at Boland Research Group, CRANN, Institute Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. The project is “Inorganic Nanoscale Neuromorphic Materials and Devices”.

This project involves the engineering of nanoscale component (1-D wires and 2-D sheets) to create macroscopic materials and devices that simulate learning characteristics typically found in biological systems. This entails developing systems with a precise response to correlated inputs, and an output that grows in strength in response of multiple correlated inputs. The position will involve material and device fabrication, and precision electrical and optical characterisation.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in either Physical Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or Electrical Engineering.
