OCE Postdoctoral Fellowship in Augmented Visual Analytics

CSIRO Digital Productivity Flagship is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to join our multi-disciplinary project team working on all aspects of visual analytics of spatio-temporal swarm sensing data.  Your particular focus will be on novel augmented reality (AR) based human-technology interfaces for interactive exploration of these complex data sets.

The candidate will work in the following aspects:

  • Under the direction of senior research scientists, carry out innovative, impactful research of strategic importance to CSIRO.
  • Lead the Augmented Visual Sensor Analytics (AViSA) research agenda, including the design, development, and evaluation of a scientific AViSA framework.
  • Produce high quality scientific and/or engineering papers suitable for publication in quality journals, for client reports and granting of patents.
  • Prepare appropriate conference papers and present those at conferences as agreed with your supervisor.

Location: Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania
Salary: $78K to $88K plus up to 15.4% superannuation (pension fund)

Qualifications:

  • A doctorate (or will shortly satisfy the requirements of a PhD) in a relevant discipline area, such as Human Technology Interaction, Augmented Reality, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated research experience in human-technology interaction, including user studies to evaluate human-technology interaction systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and integrating human-technology interaction systems.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed research team, plus the motivation and discipline to carry out autonomous research.

Owing to terms of the fellowship, candidates must not have more than 3 years of relevant Postdoctoral experience.
