Two postdoc positions in Computational Modeling of Polymers for Organic Solar Cells at DTU Physics. The Center for Atomic-scale Materials Design (CAMD) at DTU Physics and the Section for Atomic Scale Modelling and Materials (ASC) at DTU Energy are looking for outstanding candidates for two 2-year post doc positions within the field of computational materials discovery.

The positions are part of the newly funded program aiming at large-scale processing of polymer solar cells and will involve close collaboration experimentalists.

Responsibilities and tasks
The research main tasks include the development and/or benchmarking of computational methods for describing frontier energy levels and hole transport properties in polymers, as well as computational screening of large sets of candidate molecules defined in collaboration with synthetic chemists. The project will benefit from our local Linux supercomputer, which is ideally suited for large-scale computational studies.

Qualifications
The candidate should hold a PhD or equivalent degree in physics, chemistry or materials science. Candidates must have a strong background in computational chemistry. Previous experience with ab-initio simulation software is desirable.

We offer
We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international environment focusing on education, research, public-sector consultancy and innovation, which contribute to enhancing the economy and improving social welfare. We strive for academic excellence, collegial respect and freedom tempered by responsibility. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is a leading technical university in northern Europe and benchmarks with the best universities in the world.

The Center for Atomic-scale Materials Design has world-leading expertise in the development and application of electronic structure calculations. We develop the GPAW electronic structure code, Atomic Simulation Environment (ASE) and the Computational Materials Repository (CMR). We offer a dynamic and international working environment with strong expertise on scientific, large-scale computations, advanced method development and applications within areas such as (photo)catalysis, photovoltaics, molecular electronics, and 2D materials.

DTU Energy is focusing on functional materials and their application in sustainable energy technology. Our research areas include fuel cells, electrolysis, polymer solar cells, magnetic refrigeration, superconductivity, thermo electrics, sustainable synthetic fuels, and batteries. Additional information about the department can be found on www.energy.dtu.dk.

Salary and terms of employment : The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The positions are for 2 years. Starting date is as soon as possible and no later than April of 2016.

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
