It is a German multinational company that designs and manufactures athletic and casual footwear, apparel and accessories.

In 1924, Rudolf Dassler and his brother Adolf Dassler had jointly formed the company Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik. The relationship between the two brothers soured and they agreed to split in 1948, forming two separate entities, Adidas and PUMA.

Both companies are currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

PUMA is listed at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and has been a public company since 1986. Since 2007 PUMA has been part of French group Kering (formerly known as Pinault-Printemps-Redoute or PPR). The company has been led by former football professional, Bjørn Gulden who is the CEO of the company.

PUMA SE has more than 10,000 people employees and distributes its products in more than 120 countries. The company was originally registered as Ruda, but later the name was changed to PUMA.

 PUMA’s earliest logo consisted of a square and beast jumping through a D, which was registered, along with the company’s name, in 1948.

PUMA offers products for Golf, Motorsports, Football, Running, Training and Fitness and Lifestyle.

 It has sponsored a number of legendary athletes, including:

The Korean boy group, BTS, has shot several commercials, advertising shoes and clothing for the company in the year 2015.

Puma’s Cricket sponsorship includes cricketer Virat Kohli whereas Chinese actor Yang Yang has officially become the Asian brand ambassador for PUMA in the year 2017.
