We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated to work with different research groups by supporting their biochemical- and cell-based screening activities for chemical lead discovery. Main tasks include the development, optimization and transfer of biochemical- or advanced cell-based assays (eg 3D spheroids, organoid cultures) to the lab automation platforms in close collaboration with the users.The successful candidate is also responsible for the operation and supervision of the overall workflow for chemical screening including lab automation systems and the management of chemical libraries. The candidate should have a doctoral degree in life/natural sciences with experience in chemical screening (biochemical- and cell-based) and chemical lead identification.

The ETH Technology Platform NEXUS Personalized Health Technologies enables discovery and translational research in biomedicine and provides, through its Theragnostics Discovery Unit, robotic systems, genome-scale gene manipulation tools, chemical compound collections and advanced cell systems to identify and interfere with disease-causing cell circuits. We are recruiting for its multidisciplinary team of the Theragnostics Discovery Unit by September 1, 2015.

In order to fulfill the various tasks within an interdisciplinary multi-user environment he/she is a team player with very good organizational skills and a service oriented, highly flexible, reliable and accurate working style. Communication skills and a good command of English are essential.

The position is initially a limited-duration contract position with the possibility for permanent contract. The position is located in the Molecular Health Sciences Building (www.mhs.biol.ethz.ch) at the Hönggerberg Campus of ETH Zurich, a world-leading institution in basic and applied research and teaching.
