Summer Internship at IGBMC (IGBMC – Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire): The IGBMC is a major European center for biomedical research. During summer the IGBMC provides talented undergraduate students from around the world the opportunity to spend 6-8 weeks alongside IGBMC researchers.

Students carry out short research projects and address scientific questions in a dynamic environment. Projects center around areas of life sciences such as development, transcription, cancer, neuroscience, biochemistry, structural biology and bioinformatics. The working language is English.

The institute is located near Strasbourg, in the heart of Europe, close to the German and Swiss borders. Strasbourg hosts the second largest university in France, and houses the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. It is a historical and picturesque city, with a cosmopolitan environment and a vibrant cultural life. The city is definitely worth a visit and the summer internship at IGBMC offers you the chance to come and do it at the same time allows you to meet scientists from various disciplines and gain hands-on experience at the bench.

How to Apply?

  • A curriculum vitae.
  • A certificate from the university indicating the type of degree, the area of study, the starting date and the predicted date for the completion of the degree. Note that only the candidates that can provide proof that they are enrolled in the University until the end of the duration of the internship are eligible.
  • A list of coursework and grades.
  • A cover letter describing the applicant’s research interests, career goals, scientific methods of interest, and the date when the candidate can start the internship (June or July).
  • A list of up to five projects, by order of preference, from the list on the section Summer students open positions.

Who can apply?

The Summer Internship Program is for undergraduates who have completed at least two years of university and first year master students. Applicants are expected to have an excellent academic record.
