The Department of Molecular Biology reviews applications each year for students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. We encourage applications from students of diverse academic backgrounds.
Admission Requirements
The Admission Committee thoroughly evaluates each application; there is no single deciding factor for admission. Promising applicants will be invited for an interview.
A complete application includes:
- A completed web-based application.
- Transcript – scanned version obtained from your college or university.
- Official GRE exam scores from ETS. While the GRE General Test is required of all applicants, a Subject
Test is not. For GRE scores, use Institution Code 2672. - Official TOEFL exam scores from ETS for students whose native language is not English and who have not
received their undergraduate education in a U.S. college or university. For TOEFL scores, use Institution
Code 2672. - Three letters of recommendation.
Applying
Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, QCB (Quantitative & Computational Biology), and EEB (Ecology & Evolutionary Biology) offer a joint admissions process called Biology@Princeton. This website provides information on how to apply to multiple programs. If you are applying only to Molecular Biology, you can instead proceed directly to Graduate Admission.
Financial Support
All students admitted to the program receive tuition, health insurance, and a generous stipend. The stipend for the 2015-16 academic year is $33,000.
