POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN BIOCHEMISTRY at Structural Biology and Drug Discovery Lab. Two postdoctoral scientist posts are available to study ligand recognition mechanisms focused on microbial, viral and oncology targets including kinases, phosphatases and membrane-associated protein domains. Available resources include 800 and 600 MHz NMR and X-ray diffraction systems, protein expression lab and drug discovery infrastructure.
The posts are funded by the Campus Alberta Innovates Program and are available from autumn 2015.
Qualifications / Requirements:
1• PhD degree in biology, biochemistry or biophysics or PhD thesis in active preparation
2• Experience in heteronuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography or cryo-EM based analysis of proteins,
3• Computational skills in software for protein structure determination and analysis,
4• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
5• Track-record of productivity in structural biology research demonstrating experience in writing scientific manuscripts.
