Tenure track in Polymer Science and Engineering (2 positions): The Department of Materials Science (DMS) conducts internationally high-quality research on all materials based on strong interdisciplinary fundamental research. DMS is the core unit at TUT in the field of Materials Science and maintains close collaborations with other TUT departments that conduct research in fields relevant to the study of materials. Job description: The Department of Materials Science invites applications for two tenure track positions in the field of: Polymer Science and Engineering. The position will be filled at the level of Assistant Professors (1st and 2nd term) or Associate Professor, based on the experience and competence of the successful candidates.
Key Considerations: A candidate should have versatile previous experience or significant potential for research in one or more of the following areas: natural polymers, synthetic polymers, elastomers, fibres, composites, functional materials or corresponding areas. The expertise can focus on synthesis, processing, characterization, modelling or applications. We are looking for a candidate who has the potential to respond to the research and educational needs arising from future challenges in polymer science and who is therefore able to complement and strengthen the strategic areas of the department and TUT.
A successful candidate is expected to:
– pursue and supervise scientific research
– actively participate in teaching
– acquire external funding
– participate in the activities of the national and international scientific community
– interact with society
– commit to the strategy of the department and TUT.
The objectives will be set based on the expertise level and previous experience of the candidate.
Qualifications / Requirements: All candidates considered for a tenure track position are expected to:
– hold an applicable doctoral degree,
– demonstrate the capacity for independent scholarly activity,
– possess the skills and commitment to teaching at all levels (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate), and
– have the ability to cooperate in a multidisciplinary university environment and with industry.
