Clare Burton Scholarship at the Curtin University of Technology

Description

The Clare Burton Memorial provides funds to support postgraduate research into gender equity.

This scholarship was established by the following five universities:

  1. Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN),
  2. Curtin University of Technology,
  3. Queensland University of Technology,
  4. RMIT University,
  5. University of South Australia and
  6. University of Technology, Sydney.

The Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship is open to students enrolled or intending to enrol in an ATN University, in either a postgraduate coursework or research degree program where the major piece of work focuses on gender equity.

Fellowships Value: The applicant will receive $10,000 research funding along with individual support and mentoring related to their current research and future careers.

Duration: The stipend is available for a period of 12-18 months (open to both full-time and part-time students).

Eligible courses

Applicants should be enrolled or intending to enrol in a Masters / Postgraduate coursework or research degree in an ATN university.

Eligibility criteria

The primary criteria for considering applications are:

  1. the quality of the research proposal
  2. the capability of the researcher.

Other considerations may include:

  1. the applicant’s financial need
  2. lack of previous access to research opportunities
  3. being from an under-represented group within higher education research.
