College of Wooster awards Theatre & Dance Scholarship to Ist year students (transfers not eligible) based on acting, directing, playwriting, design and technology, or dance abilities. Winners are not required to major or minor in Theatre and Dance at Wooster.

How to apply:

Follow these instructions:

  • Complete the general application for admission by January 1, 2019
  • Complete the Theatre & Dance Scholarship Application Form by January 1, 2019
  • ONE letter of recommendation must be submitted (from teachers or instructors in the respected field) by January 1, 2019.
  • Theatre or dance (or both) CV
  • Writing sample (1 page) that demonstrates applicant’s ability to communicate thoughts using research and analysis in a clear and concise manner.
  • An essay from an English class or on a theater subject would be a suitable piece (topic is completely open; feel free to modify a previously written essay for this purpose).
  • Be present for the appropriate audition:
  • Dance Applicants: students must submit their audition by providing a link to a YouTube or Vimeo recording by January 1, 2019.
  • No auditions will be held in person.
  • Theatre Applicants: Auditions will be held in person on January 1, 2019 in Freelander Theatre.
