The Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research (CGA) in Germany is a joint venture of the University of Cologne Excellence Cluster on Stress Responses in Aging Associated Diseases (CECAD), the University Hospital Cologne, the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research and the Center of Advanced European Studies and Research (caesar). The Cologne/Bonn area has emerged as a leading global research centre with a stellar constellation of institutes and scientists dedicated to ageing research in Life Sciences

Number of places: 12 fully funded PhD positions

Duration: 3 years

Subject areas: Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering & Medical Biology.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be highly qualified and motivated
  • Applicant must hold Master’s or equivalent degree in Cell/ Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Translational Medicine or a related field
  • Applications are invited from all countries with a Diploma/Master’s or equivalent degree in the relevant field.
  • Applicants with a degree in medicine are also welcome to apply provided they have sufficient relevant research experience.
  • Applicant must possess excellent written and spoken English skills (C1 level).
